Line Dragons

Fifth graders watched a video clip about the Chinese New Year.  They were then required to choose a colored piece of yarn and lay it across their paper.  That became the spine of their dragon.  Using construction paper crayons, fifth graders brought their dragons to life.

Watercolor Dragons

Third graders read the book “Behold! The Dragons” by Gail Gibbons.  We discussed the many features of a dragon.  Students then drew their own dragons and filled them in using metallic watercolors.
