Silhouette People

The 6th graders had a blast with this assignment and got VERY creative in their poses! Students paired up and then traced one partner on black butcher paper to create a silhouette.  They then had to choose a color scheme to fill their silhouette with.  We used die-cut circles of various sizes.  The kids love seeing these in the hallway!  Created lots of movement!

African Sunset

Students viewed images from a fellow colleagues trip to Africa this summer.  Using warm colored tempera paint, students created a gradient background.  They then made an animal stamp using a styrofoam plate.  Students experimented with printmaking using their stamp.
